The City of Burbank regrets the
passing of a long time employee and friend James Lario, 84, on
February 7th, 2004. Our thoughts are with his family. Jim has been
the City’s Building Department’s director since 1970. Over the past
34 years, Jim has seen the expansion of Burbank from a small suburban
town with gravel roads to the fine community it has matured into.
Jim has witnessed many generations of families stay within this fine
community to enjoy the type of closeness and kinship that Jim tried
to ensure in this city through his work. Jim had the pleasure and
enjoyment of having seen many generations of his own family share
and grow within the city limits. Jim had the support of his beloved
wife Lorraine of 52 years before her passing in 1996. Together they
raised two children, James Jr. (Mary Ann) and Joan Masquelier. He is
survived by five grandchildren and was a great grandfather of
twelve. Jim will be remembered by this community as not only an
employee but also a great friend and family man.
